I’m 43 years old and a sales professional in the Silicon Valley. I’m a single parent with a daughter who is 12 years old. I’ve always been fairly active from an exercise perspective with running being my favorite form of exercise. Running helps me to reduce my stress.
I first visited Frank Leonardi in June 2002 looking for an alternative in combating my constant headaches. I have suffered from headaches as far back as I can remember and always carried Tylenol, Motrin, Excedrin, etc. in my purse and took the pain medication
on a regular basis. I have always felt my headaches were a byproduct of stress. However, my headaches were getting worse and the over-the-counter medicine wasn’t working any longer. I began to think that these intense headaches were not caused from stress but rather from hormonal changes.
My OB-GYN doctor, who I have been seeing for years, suggested that I was in the very early stages of menopause. He suggested I begin taking a very low dose of birth control pills to counter some of the side effects of menopause. I did take the birth control pill for many months and it seemed to be working very well. I began to experience debilitating headaches during the week I wasn’t taking the birth control pill. My doctor suggested supplementing the pill with another low dose of hormones during the week I was getting horrible headaches. I didn’t want any more prescription drugs in my body and thus my reason for searching for alternative help.
Frank began working with me concentrating on the headaches first. We discussed my use of birth control pills to regulate my hormones. After seeing Frank once a week for one month,
I decided to stop taking the birth control pill and follow an alternative regime to regulate hormones. I have been seeing Frank once a week since that time and have never considered using prescription drugs for headaches or to regulate hormones again. The side effects of early stage menopause have disappeared as well as my headaches. I no longer assume headaches are a “way of life” nor do I carry over-the-counter medication in my purse. Now when I experience a headache, I take notice that it is an anomaly and I can quickly figure out the source of the headache.
The greatest benefit of Frank’s service for me has been the ability to feel normal again – no headaches, no hot-flashes, no night sweats but rather a feeling of well being. I have told numerous friends and family members about the benefits of his alternative practice. I read in the paper, or hear on the news, about the negative outcomes of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It frustrates me to no end that women continue with HRT knowing the risks because of the lack of any alternatives presented by physicians or discussed in the news. I find the work I have done with Frank not only to be an alternative, but a better alternative!
Franks greatest asset as a health practitioner is that he takes time to get to know me personally and doesn’t offer a “one size fits all” approach to his practice. He’s kind, sensitive, easy to talk and discuss issues with that are personal in nature, explains his practice in terms in which I can understand, and best of all produces results that have been truly outstanding for me. < back
